Cost Estimate for De Heus Feed Mill in Kenya
We are proud to support our valued, continuing client with their next feed mill in Kenya.
Project: RTO implementation project
Where: The Netherlands
IntES Services: Engineering Consultancy, 3D Modelling
Our valued client, a Dutch multi-national food, fuel and agribusiness company has over 300 facilities worldwide and for each facility, the highest levels of quality and sustainability are key. Our client chose IntES for our engineering consultancy expertise to produce a detailed engineering package on the implementation of a new mobile combustion skid (RTO) and peripheral equipment to prevent emission of unwanted and prohibited exhaust gases (VOCs – Volatile Organic Compounds). The RTO was to be installed in an existing site.
The most efficient and effective way to assess the options and propose the engineering works required for such an installation is through the use of 3D modelling. In this case, we would incorporate the new installation into an existing 3D model so that the layout of the various machines (including a scrubber, heat exchangers and condensate tank, piping, mobile RTO) can be included in the proposal, allowing our client to see the full picture and impact of the RTO implementation. Through use of the 3D model we were then also able to determine how the RTO could be installed in the most productive and cost-effective manner for our client.
For this project, in collaboration with our partner, our first course of action involved an on-site inspection to collect and review input for the 3D model, in order to ensure that all existing framework and equipment were accurately and exactly represented in the 3D model. Together with IntES HVEC in Vietnam (who helped with the correct processing of information in the 3D model), the IntES team in The Netherlands (project lead) set up and executed various engineering phases, together with scope and time monitoring for the installation of the RTO and associated equipment. The 3D model together with P&ID’s, isometrics and MTO’s was translated into different detailed engineering packages which our client could then use for quotation requests (RFQ’s).
As per all our projects, communication is paramount. The IntES Netherlands lead was in daily contact with the engineering team and reported back weekly to the client’s project team with full transparency. Our client has been very happy with our expertise and service and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
