About the Project:

Having experienced working with us on projects previously, Sandvik first approached IntES in early 2020 for this plant relocation project belonging to their Mining business area. They were seeking a professional engineering service to achieve the safety and quality management of the project as well as controlling the schedule and keeping costs under budget; all things we specialise in at IntES. We were delighted to be able to work with our continuing client again having established a great productive relationship over our previous work with Sandvik.

There were strict confidentiality requirements in the initial stages of the project which meant a few challenges from the point of view of limited resource involvement for the confirmation of exact requirements. At IntES we never shy away from a challenge, and so we got down to work on the due diligence, design review, cost estimation and construction management for the project, with smooth cooperation from the Sandvik team.

The relocation project included making significant modifications, so not only were we working on the workshop and warehouse, but also the construction of brand new office building and several ancillary buildings.

The project had a tight schedule in order to meet the project delivery date for production, and even despite a global pandemic happening during the project’s timeline we are pleased to report that the project is on-track and currently in the construction stage, due to meet its completion date in the middle of 2021.
