Our client contacted our IntES team in The Netherlands with a need to connect utilities, steam, water, pressurised air, nitrogen and natural gas in a new pilot plant for a new eco venture. Our client chose IntES for our flexibility and collaborative approach as they wishes us to work collaboratively with another specialist engineering company (a bulk materials handling & pneumatic conveying specialist based in the UK), which we were more than happy to do, having worked on many successful collaborations in this way. In addition, our client required a flexible, reimbursable contract with a budget limit – which we were happy to manage. And furthermore, given the experimental nature of the venture, our client wanted to be sure of excellent, transparent communication throughout the project, which they knew they would receive from us.
Knowing the client’s mechanical and piping requirements, we worked out the optimal design for the pilot plant’s needs in a 3D model. Our engineers also used the 3D model to to work out the stress calculations for the steam pipe. The isometrics were then extracted from this 3D model, which the client used to construct the pipes. The client’s new process being tested required lots of valves to be operated, thus we also suggested the addition of an operations platform which we designed and was implemented and built by the client.
