De Heus and its international export branch, Koudijs, are experts in the field of animal nutrition and is a world leading producer of animal feed solutions. Serving both large livestock & aquaculture businesses and small individual farmers, they specifically tailor their products and approach to meet the specific needs of livestock & aquaculture in each country and support each sector uniquely. By ensuring maximum animal health and optimum performance through their feed specialties, De Heus and Koudjis have been supporting the development of the agricultural sector for over 100 years.
Wanting to expand their portfolio and continue to serve the farmers of Ivory Coast and local export countries, De Heus decided this was the right time and location to position a feed mill in Ivory Coast. The new factory has been designed by IntES to meet the highest safety and quality standards expected by De Heus, along with environmentally friendly features. On completion, the plant will have an initial capacity of 100.000 MT per annum, but is also designed to expand capacity and allow for future adjustments to meet De Heus’ long-term plans for the region.
IntES’ services as the lead engineers on the project cover the entire project process from start to finish, including land surveys, engineering, procurement support, permitting, project management (full EPCM) and construction management, to name a few. With our extensive expertise in engineering for the agriculture and animal husbandry industry, and our dedicated team in Ivory Coast, we were perfectly placed to support De Heus with this significant Greenfield animal feed plant project. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively with the De Heus / Koudijs team, the suppliers and contractors on this project. We are taking a truly integrated approach with complete transparency every step of the way, which as always is producing outstanding results. With our IntES Ivory Coast office on-the-ground to manage the project, our IntES Netherlands team works closely with De Heus head office there, and of course our HVEC (High Value Engineering Centre) in Vietnam completes this multicultural integrated effort of our global engineering expertise.
In September this year (2021), the first stone was officially laid on this exciting project. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by a number of Ivory Coast government ministers and dignitaries, as well as business partners, valued De Heus and Koudijs customers and other special guests; marking the significance of the project.
