IntES Process Plant Engineering and Consulting in Cambodia
At IntES, we proudly deliver our extensive Process Plant Engineering and Consulting service to our esteemed clients across several sectors,...
It’s our favourite time of the year – the IntES Company Outing! Once again the whole of IntES Vietnam got together for a fantastic fun-filled few days away to celebrate our achievements, blow off some steam and build even stronger team bonds.
This year the team headed to beautiful Mui Ne beach, a beautiful location in Phan Thiet on the southern coast of Vietnam. All 100+ IntES Vietnam team members were invited and it was lovely to see the whole IntES Vietnam family of both the Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi offices together in one place. This year’s company outing had a theme of “Work Hard, Play Hard”… our teams give their absolute all to everything they do, it’s how we can take such pride in our work because we truly care about each and every project we do and give it our all. So the “work hard” part is well and truly achieved. It seems only fair therefore to reward this diligence and dedication with some serious fun… “play hard”!
The event started out with a day of brilliant team-building games on the beach, which, given our competitive nature, of course meant it turned into a major competition between the purple, pink, red and yellow teams! Various beach games including obstacle relay races, balancing games, and even a human belt-drive race were among the team-building activities. The obstacle course in particular was great fun and put everyone through their paces starting with a bouncy race on giant inflatable horses, a commando-crawl through the sand under bunting-clad cargo net, huge leaps over hurdles and a skill-throw of a hoop. Some of our colleagues hugely impressed with hitherto undiscovered athletic talents as they leapt majestically over those hurdles! But the best part was everyone’s energetic enthusiasm in cheering on their teammates through each obstacle. As you can imagine, the competition and light-hearted banter was mingled much hilarity, and we’ve certainly come away with some great memories as well as having gotten to know each other that little bit better.
A feature of all our company outings is a gala dinner in the evening, something we always look forward to. This time we changed it up a bit and had a fully relaxed vibe under festoon lighting and palm trees with a great BBQ, selection of beautiful freshly-caught seafood and spectacular buffet with something for everyone. We called it “The IntES Night Chill”. The gala dinner is a chance for us all to celebrate the successes of the past year, both as a company and individual achievements. Our leadership team also take this opportunity to thank everyone, presenting awards and sharing their gratitude for everyone’s hard work.
But this was no ordinary gala dinner… more games were involved, even a writing competition, and together in small groups there were some epic performances on stage, performed by none there than our own IntES colleagues! What a talented bunch of people we work with! Our team’s varied special performances involving choreographed dances and singing numbers were a truly unforgettable highlight of the evening; they went down a storm! Some brilliant singing and dancing we will never forget! And who could forget that magnificent IntES conga line!?!?
On day two more team-building games tested this time our group problem-solving skills… even getting some of our engineering skills involved as the teams were tasked with building structures to support the weight of cans and eggs from wooden sticks and string – having been earlier given the challenge to learn and re-create different kinds of intricate rope-knots. This was then followed by some beautiful creativity using natural materials to really round-off our team experiences, with some beautiful IntES logos being created by the groups.
Finally, a really special moment for everyone involved as we lit our bonfire on the beach at night. What a great setting for some concluding evening games and trust exercises, as well as a good relaxed catch up between friends.
A special thank you to those that organised this wonderful outing for us – it was a huge success! We already can’t wait for next year’s event.
