Our client, based in The Netherlands, is a major global designer and manufacturer of wax print fashion fabrics, especially for consumers in West and Central African markets. Dearly loved through generations, many of their 350,000+ textile designs derived from Indonesian Batik methods, have now become cultural treasures. Operating for over 170 years, our client’s success is a true testament to beautiful, multicultural craftsmanship through industry.
Known for supporting our clients in the region with their major brownfield and greenfield projects, IntES is becoming the go-to engineering consultants. Not only do we deliver large-scale CAPEX projects, but support on all engineering concerns, big or small. Our client approached us to deliver an engineering field study for their backup boiler house in Adbidjan, Ivory Coast. They wished to know, in detail, the state of their existing back up boilers and attached assets, as well as to receive our professional recommendations on their future operation.
Our client operates a number of steam boilers at their production plant in Abidjan. One bio mass fired steam boiler is currently delivering the base steam load for the factory. In addition, there are 4 other gas fired boilers on site available for delivering backup capacity. These boilers are gas fired, dated back from few decades ago. All boilers have the same design flow and operating pressure. At present only one backup boiler is in operation or standby.
Our IntES team in Abidjan, supported by their other expert engineering colleagues in our other IntES offices worldwide, delivered a full inspection of the boilers according the API510 procedure. In additional, we also came up with a proposal for a lifetime extension study of the boilers as requested. We have recommended our client three different scenarios on how to they could proceed to ensure a safe and reliable operation for the future. Thereby giving our client a number of feasible options to choose between to aid the company’s decision making on their future operations.
